The right treatment depends on your skin, not just the price.
Microneedling works best when it’s matched to your skin’s current condition, your barrier health, your pigment risk, your treatment history and how much downtime you can realistically manage.
For some clients, the best starting point is Nano-tip Microexfoliation or Essential Microneedling. For others, especially those treating acne scarring, texture or pigmentation, we may recommend a more corrective option such as Expert Microneedling or Ultimate EXO.
If you’re new to Open House Skin, your first appointment gives us time to understand your skin, assess suitability and build a treatment plan before jumping into more advanced treatments.
This is especially important if you’re treating acne, pigmentation, scarring, sensitivity or barrier damage.
Not sure where to start? Book a consultation or The Housewarming Facial and we’ll recommend the safest, most effective option for your skin.

Microneedling is an advanced treatment that uses the wound healing response to firm the skin, even out tone and texture, and remodel scars.
It involves the use of micro-fine needles that superficially injure the skin in order to kick it into gear and start the healing process. Think of it like when you work out and your muscles get sore, only to grow bigger and stronger.
This wound healing cascade releases growth factors, cytokines, hormones, and a cocktail of other chemicals in the skin that improve cell communication and function, leading to repair, remodeling, and rejuvenation!
-
As microneedling doesn’t remove or heat the epidermis, it’s considered safe for all skin tones and types. In order to manage the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, we require all clients to be on a pigment inhibiting product for 2-4 weeks beforehand for your safety.
Those who have the following conditions or are taking the following medications are not suitable for microneedling:
Pregnancy
Taking blood thinners or St John’s Work supplements
Heart Medications
Antihistamines (Within 24 hours of treatment)
Prone to hypertrophic or keloid scarring
Unable to avoid excess sun exposure
Oral acne medication in the last 12 months
Laser resurfacing in the last 6 months
Injectables in the last 2 weeks
Active eczema/dermatitis/psoriasis/rosacea
Cancer

Realistically, Microneedling is not the most relaxing treatment, but the results make up for it tenfold!
During the treatment, you will hear and feel the buzzing of the handpiece and feel a scratchy or prickly sensation on the treated areas.
After the treatment, your skin will feel a bit tender and be red, like a sunburn. During this time, we will prepare for you an aftercare pack to use for the next 3 days to improve healing and soothe the skin.
-
You can expect 48-72 hours of recovery in which the skin looks worse before it looks better.
Immediately after the treatment you skin will be a bit red and tender, like a sunburn.
For 24 hours:
Only apply the sterile recovery cream we supply you with—no other skincare, no makeup, no SPF. This is why we recommend you plan your appointment on day you don’t have to go anywhere and to bring a hat with you.
After 24 hours, you can use a gentle cleanser, mineral or zinc-based sunscreen, and mineral makeup along with your recovery cream.
After 72 hours, you can return to normal, gentle skincare as you finish your recovery cream. Wait a full week to use retinol or exfoliants.
During the recovery period, avoid swimming, excess heat from hot showers or saunas, intensive exercise, and sun exposure.

1NEED microneedling may be recommended as part of a treatment plan for:
Fine lines and wrinkles
Acne scarring
Uneven texture and congestion
Open pores
Post-acne marks
Hyperpigmentation / Melasma / Age spots
Dull or rough skin
Stretch marks and body scarring
Skin firmness and collagen support
Long-term skin maintenance
Not every skin is ready for microneedling straight away. If your skin is inflamed, sensitised, actively breaking out or prone to pigmentation, we may recommend preparation treatments or products first. -
When it comes to microneedling and mesotherapy, high-quality and sterile products are of utmost importance to prevent side effects, complications and infections.
We use a sterile field and use single-use cartridges on each client while utilizing the injectable-grade, sterile cocktails from Fusion Mesotherapy.
Our 1NEED Medical Microneedling device is manufactured in Italy and uses medical-grade stainless steel needles to avoid excessive trauma to the skin. Our device ranges from 0.1mm to 2.5mm so we can treat from the most surface level concerns to the deepest of scars.
This means we can choose the level that suits your skin goal, tolerance and recovery time rather than forcing every client into the same treatment.
Key points:
Single-use sterile cartridges
Adjustable treatment depth
Multiple treatment modes
Suitable for progressive treatment planning
Can be adapted for different skin goals
Supports targeted serum infusion during treatment -
Best results come from a series.
Microneedling is not usually a one-and-done treatment, especially for scarring, pigmentation, deep texture or collagen remodelling. Most corrective plans involve a series of treatments spaced around 4–8 weeks apart. Your plan may also include LED, peels, homecare or skin barrier support depending on what your skin needs to respond well.
